Job Description

[Your Staffing Firm Name] is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join the finance team of a reputable banking client. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong technical Excel skills, and prior experience working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and analyze financial records and reports
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall accounting operations
  • Utilize Excel to create pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, and perform data analysis
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting and projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required)
  • 3+ years of staff accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - must be comfortable with pivot tables and VLOOKUP's
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry is a plus, but not required
